First Day of School!

Recently we celebrated (at least my wife and I celebrated with song and dance... "it's the most wonderful time of the year") the first day of school. Our kids all donned their new school duds, stuffed their back packs, and headed out bright and early.

And, as tradition has it, we always try to snap a picture with our neighbor in it - he is the one who looks a bit mentally challenged in the above picture - no, not the guy in shorts!)

The big news for us this year is that we now have a middle-schooler! If that is not enough to put the fear of God into you, I'm not sure what is. Actually Megan is off to a great start as a middler, and has even managed to get up at 6:30 a.m. every morning with no complaints - what a transformation...

Emily and Grant are both doing great also and we are very happy with their teachers (as usual) and appreciative of such a good school system.

It's been about 3 weeks since the kids have been back in school, and we are all just about adjusted. We are looking forward to a good year.

Anniversary - Part 2

Here we are on "Day 2" of our anniversary celebration. As I mentioned before, we each planned out a day's activities with the other person in mind. So, what did Sandi plan? Shooting stuff with real guns! Is she cool or what?

After blowing stuff up with pistols at an indoor gun range we eventually ended up back home for dinner. Sandi cooked a truly delicious and creative meal - one I won't soon forget.

I can say this about my wife - she is God's most precious gift to me on this earth. And when she enters my world to express love to me in my native language it's as though God reaches deep within and touches, heals, and redeems yet another piece of my soul.
